A#1 Crane Co. of Fairhaven supplied the manpower for the job, with Patrick J. Carr in the driver's seat.

The restoration was carried out during the winter. The wood frame upper portion of the lighthouse was rebuilt during the past several weeks, and graffiti removal continues at the lighthouse and throughout the fort.

The restoration was funded in part from a grant by NStar. Mayor Frederick M. Kalisz Jr. has announced that the city will hold a gala re-lighting ceremony on the evening of June 15, the 132nd anniversary of this lighthouse's first illumination.
